"Oh, yeah. We both loved giraffes." Doug says, recalling fond memories. "Did you know that the giraffe is both the tallest living terrestrial animal and the largest ruminant?"

"Uh...no" you say, uninterested.

"Oh, yeah. And also, they have, like, different patterns based on where they live! I bet you didn't know that!" Doug shouts, excitedly.

"Nope, I didn't. Well thanks, anyway. I better be getting home!" you can tell you're not going to get anywhere with Doug distracted by giraffes...
