“Leslie, what if I told you I could make your life better?”
“Uh, I would you to make it better, obviously.”
“Good girl,” you say, pointing the gun at her. “That’s all I needed to hear.”
Before she can react, you zap her!
The gun makes the changes way faster than before. Leslie’s reality is shifted completely. Instead of being a 24-year old research intern, Leslie is a 34-year-old housewife who looks like she cane straight out of the 50s.
What happened?
Leslie was originally born in 1996 to two scientist parents. She was always naturally smart and was encouraged to become independent and ambitious. However, the ray changed all that. She was now born in 1986 to a scientist father and a submissive, obedient housewife mother. Leslie was now never naturally smart and wasn’t pushed to address this, let alone take up science. Leslie saw her mother as a role model and always dreamed of being like her one day. Leslie, learned many valuable lessons growing up, like that women are supposed to be good at cooking and cleaning, the husband has complete control over the wife because he was smarter, and that being domesticated was being feminine. Leslie was convinced that it was a woman’s duty to settle down and be a housewife, and it showed through her passive personality. After all, her mom seemed so happy without an ounce of independence in her spirit. When Leslie graduated high school, she took up work as a housekeeper (her passion) until she met Brad, a young doctor. She married Brad and the two started their life together, with Leslie at last living out her dream of being a housewife just like her mother.
“Excuse me, but why am I here again? Please remind me.” Leslie asks.
