You meet up at the store, taking a small table in the back by the window. The lamp is in your backpack next to you. You go up and order a couple of hot lattes from the barista, as you look back you take in Jun. She has a slender build, thin lips, and long black hair that has dyed tips which are starting to fade. She’s sitting quite proper with her hands crossed on her legs as she looks out the window. Walking back over she greets you very respectfully, well-behaved and reserved as she is. Everything about Jun is very clean and orderly.
...you’d like to see that change.
You: “Here we go, two cups of the finest in town.”
“Hmm, I think I will be the judge of this,” She says in a jokingly pompous tone, “My family is quite particular when it comes to our coffee. My father actually worked a coffee farm in Yunnan province, so he is a very harsh judge. He normally does not even let me buy coffee from shops, he says it is ‘Wúwèi de,’ tasteless as you say.” She looks put off saying this, so you have an idea and nonchalantly reach into your bag and rub the lamp.
“Shit!”
“Language, please.” Shocked, she looks around to avoid a scene.
“Sorry...but if this isn’t the greatest then, I wish this coffee could be more life-changing for you.”
The genie is smart and puts together a wish fitting your intent, though a trickster who revels at the chaos about to happen.
Each time Jun takes a sip of her drink some random aspect of her life will be altered in some way, how even the genie does not know.
“Oh, I’m sure it will still be very good!” She says smiling and taking a sip.
