The man, after a moment of thinking about his next change, smiles wickedly and swings the pendulum in front of you again.
“Valerie, you are a mother.”
“A moth-I am not!” You protest fiercely. You have never, in your entire life, wanted kids. So annoying and time-consuming, kids just disgusted you. You also hated being told you looked like a mom, as it was such a grim reminder of your age. You were too focused on yourself and your career to be a mom, and that’s EXACTLY how you liked it.
“You’re a proud mother of one.”
“I’m...n-not a...” you say weakly, your will breaking. You know you aren’t a mother, but deep down you’ve always wanted a child of your own. They may be time consuming and annoying, but being a parent is one of the most incredible possibilities of adulthood in your eyes. If only you could have made it happen, but now you just might be a bit too old...
“You are a proud mother, Valerie.”
“I am a...proud...mother,” you finally admit with a coy smile. You’ve always wanted a child of your own, and you were so happy you made it happen.
“You are a proud mother. Say it again.”
“I am a proud mother,” you repeat with bravado. You adopted a baby girl once your career started taking off about eight years ago, and you have loved every second of raising little Rachel, from her dance recitals to cheer practice to play dates. You couldn’t wait to see the beautiful, sensuous woman she’d become one day. Sure, you weren’t the typical nuclear family mom, but you were a mom, and that’s just the way you liked it. You only needed Rachel to really make you happy, and that’s why you, a mature woman, always wanted to set a good example. As you reflect on your motherhood, your entire appearance changes to reflect your maturity: your dress becomes longer and less suited to a night out and more suited to a day at the office. Your hair is done to the side and looks roughed up yet elegant all at once. You have less makeup on but are now wearing a black jacket and stockings. While your appearance is still paramount, you aren’t trying to be a whore. That’s partly why you never go out, as you have more important matters than that. Rachel, like her mother, would be a woman who understands the true value of a woman’s appearance.
The man is very satisfied with your new mom look, though he is of course in the dark about the details. Janine is also still there unaltered, as the pendulum works is that the user and anyone entranced will not be affected by any changes not directed at them.
