“You’re brunette.”
“I’m blonde...not...brunette,” you manage to say, somewhat defiantly. You love and adore your light blonde hair! You always have. You are a natural blonde, but get it dyed to make sure it keeps the color you love so much. Both of your parents were blonde before their hair went gray, and you consider yourself lucky that they were.
“You are brunette.”
“I-I am...b-brunette...?” you say, if a bit unsure as, unbeknownst to you, your hair darkens. Technically, you are a very dirty blonde, but it’s pretty much a light brown, so calling yourself a brunette isn’t so far fetched. You were always kind of glad you were never blonde, because you never wanted to hear all of those dumb blonde jokes. Your dad was brunette and your mom was blonde, hence your mix of the two. If anything, you always kind of wanted to go darker, but you like your current color enough to keep it. Going totally blonde was never really a thought.
“You have dark brown hair and you love it.”
“I have dark brown hair...and I love it,” you say with a long sigh. Coming from a long line of brunettes, your hair didn’t surprise you with its color, but that doesn’t mean you never loved it! So many others wanted to go blonde, but you knew you were perfect as a brunette.
“Your hair is curly.”
“My hair is curly?” You ask. You swore you straightened it today, but now that seems weird to do because you usually wear it curly, only straightening it occasionally. It was naturally straight, but you mostly wore it curled because you preferred it.
“Yes. Your hair is curly.”
“My...my hair is curly,” you say. You’ve always been infatuated with your natural brunette curls and never wore your hair any other way. Why tamper with perfection?
“You are wearing a blue dress.”
“I’m wearing...” you mutter, looking down at your dress to see it’s blue and white-dotted pattern. “...a b-blue dress.” Red or pink were your colors of choice, but blue was also a strong choice as well. Hopefully tonight someone also finds blue to be a strong choice.
The man certainly does. You match his preferences now.
