Ok this is a strange concept so I'm just going to try and explain it as best as I can. Imagine the human body is a car. The body is the chassis, the soul is the engine and mind/will is the driver.
Like a car there is a relationship between the 3. You wouldn't find a firetruck engine in the chassis of a toyota, and you wouldn't expect people to drive a large truck the same way as a small toyota.
However unlike a car, a person is not a static thing. It changes/evolves as time goes on. These changes are affected by what body (chassis), soul (engine) and mind/will (driver) you have.
Now when the device body swaps 2 people it only swaps the mind. This has the result of putting you in control of a new body, but the side effect is that over time your mind will alter to better fit your body and soul. This is a desired result as it means both parties will given sufficient time perfectly adapt to life as eachother.
What would happen then if you swapped both the mind and soul ? Well you wouldn't immediately see anything different from just swapping consciousness.
But unlike before the mind is not the odd one out, it's the body. Given time you'll be able to notice physical changes to the body.
Now that is not to say there will not be any changes to the mind if you also swap the soul. Each party's influence is not equal in this 3 way relationship.
The body is what expresses it's self the most, followed by the mind and lastly the soul.
For example no matter how much times passes, placing the mind and soul of a man in a female body will not change it's gender. The body may adopt somewhat more masculine features, but the mind and soul will be the ones to "change gender".
