Glancing at the phone you swiped, you are puzzled by the app that is currently open, called the ALTER app, which apparently stands for Applying Lasting Transformations Effecting Reality. You notice that your name is listed on the SUBJECT bar, with many different items listed below such as your age, sex, hair color, religion, sexual orientation, and many, many more. There’s also a command bar that lets you put in whatever you want, and it seems like you can make the changes noticed or not, and the setting called ALTER REALITY seems to make the changes retroactive. Your gut instinct tells you this has to be some joke...but then why did Katherine seem more upset about the phone than about her arrest? Could this app...actually change people?
