You decided to ignore the lamp. You could worry about it later. There were more important things to worry about, such as biology.
You sat down at a table near the front of the class, making sure to adjust your skirt before doing so.
You reached into your backpack to take out some important stuff for class. First, you took out your favorite notebook for your favorite class, a pink spiral notebook with the word "Biology" engraved in red. There was a little red heart glued on top of where the dot of the I would normally be. There wasn't any practical reason for the heart, you just thought it would look cute. Secondly, you took out a pink glittery pencil with a red heart-shaped eraser attached. You remembered buying these from the mall a few months ago when buying school supplies with your mom. You saw them in the back to school aisle, and they were just so pretty trust you had to buy them.
Finally, you took out a pink hair tie from your backpack, and neatly tied your long and silky hair up into a bun. You were sure that there was a lab today, and you did not want your hair to get in the way. For good measure, you also unskilled your ruby earrings and put them in the case.
As you finished preparing for class, you noticed that your teacher, Mrs. Johnson, was entering the room. You crossed your fingers in front of you, looked up at Mrs. Johnson, and smiled.
"Good morning Mrs. Johnson!"
"Good morning Stephanie! By the way, you got an A+ on your last exam. Keep up the good work."
You suddenly felt an overwhelming sense of joy. It as if you got an A+ for the first time, well, ever. But that didn't make any sense. After all, you remembered always being a straight A student, ever since you were a little girl, right?
But of course you were always a straight A student, you remembered. After all, why else would your parents call you Straight A Steph? At this thought you gave a quiet laugh. You told your parents all the time to stop calling you that, but deep down, you appreciated it. Sure, it was a cheesy nickname, but was it wrong? Besides, you knew just how proud your mom and dad were of their daughter's academic prowess.
Putting all of these strange thoughts to the side, you calmly said thank you to Mrs. Johnson before opening your notebook. You turned to the page where you had left your bookmark, right near the middle of the book. You gave a small smirk at how neatly and carefully organized the notes were, perfect for studying with, just as you intended.
As you turned to a blank page, you smiled. You were ready for another day of learning and studying, and you knew that all you had to do to succeed, was to continue to do your very best.
