And at seeing you so quickly disregard it to wish for another cat, your cat cursed the lamp, to mold you into its perfect owner with every passing wish. Furthermore, since your first cat was also lonely, it made you desire more and more cats.

However, there is now only enough magic in the lamp for one final wish; one final wish before the lamps magic was depleted; one final wish before your cat would have to move on to the afterlife. And your cat did not want that wish to go to waste.
