Eventually you drop the clue that you're tired and he shows you to his daughter's room where there's a nice bed. You ask about the book on the table and he tells you it's one of Brynnn's magic books.
"Don't go snooping through it though..." he hesitates as if deciding whether to take it from the room then waves his hand. "Ehh, not like you'd be able to read it anyway. Just mind yourself and get some sleep. We'll figure things out in the morning."
As you get in bed you notice the book is now glowing. Now you're curious, and you hate being curious. It's like an itch that has to be scratched. A look wouldn't hurt would it? You really want to know more about this world's magic. Especially since Earth didn't have any. A magical world and there's a glowing magic book just begging you to inspect it right there...
Unable to resist you take a peek and open it up to one of the pages that it falls open to almost naturally. There's some kind of runic script there.
You squint your eyes as a headache hits. Pressing your temples for a few moments as it subsides you look down and realize you can read it now. "True self I be, true self I become. Goddess bless, with thee I am one." you say the words aloud absentmindedly and feel a flush run through you. Nothing else seems to have happened but you think maybe Elder Kallis was right, this isn't something you should be messing with...
You opt to go to bed and get some sleep while you can.
