You suddenly realize that Carl is here, yet the story still continues. What is happening? What isn't happening?
Carl then notices your very visible panic attack and asks you what's wrong.
You reply that something is off. something just feels wrong.
Carl, with a bewildered expression, questions you more about this, and receives more answers of a similar answer.
You take deep breathes, and look around the current area. A genie resides behind Carl and Carl gains a devious expression on his face. It then hits you. Carl was manipulating you all along. He wanted the genie to himself, and achieved this by playing stupid in all the other timelines. Carl explains that he wished that his curse of never getting through a single page away, as he wanted to get the good ending just this once, and that he spent the second wish on making sure you had no way to interfere with his "happy ending", therefore causing the panic attack and memory loss.
You try to wish for the genie to undo this curse, but you have no words. Carl then claps sarcastically, as any reputable antagonist would do. Carl then tells the genie to prepare for the last wish.
