"So, how long does that give us" Ben asks nervously, as he mimes checking the time on his wrist.
"Well, that's just it..." Alex flips the page back and forth, making sure he hasn't missed anything. "Once we recite the spell, the wave is gone, but it could just come back at any random moment. Maybe never...maybe right away. It might even hit one of us and then hit another at a completely different time. It'd just be...random..."
"Well, at least it's worth a shot" Ben says. "I mean...it's better than nothing"
The three of you decide to recite the spell, and just like that, the Wave disappears. You and your friends are spared, at least for now...
