Taking a look at the command bar, a million ideas fill your brain: you could put anything there! You could make yourself rich, beautiful, have a sexy husband, or anything else your heart desires! The fulfillment of those desires, of course, assume that this app isn’t some big practical joke. You’d rather start with something else that interests you beyond the no-brainers. After all, changing reality could be an opportunity to explore possibilities you otherwise couldn’t, examining the many roads you did not or could not have taken. It just so happens you have just the road to check out.

“How about I make it so I wasn’t so successful?” You ask yourself aloud. “I always wondered how my life would have turned out if I wasn’t so…ambitious.”

Deciding to satisfy your curiosity, you get to typing before noticing the PERSONALITY TRAITS list. Spotting AMBITION, you delete it and enter the change:

Once you hit ENTER, you immediately find yourself standing just outside of your office, but things feel…odd. You look down to see that your clothes have changed, having been replaced with a pink top and black skirt and heels. Looking at the door to your office, it reads MARTIN FRANCIS - PRINCIPAL on it. For a moment, you’re confused, but then it hits you like a truck:

“My life…my life totally changed!”

You have a new wave of memories that exists beside your old ones, memories of a non-ambitious Sandra Ward. You never as worked hard as you could have, and settled for a lot: grades, extracurriculars, relationships, and especially the college you went to. Still wanting a career in education, you graduated with a degree in English without any honors. You floundered every chance to get a teaching job, but that didn’t make you work any harder, so after a few odd jobs you took this secretarial position and have been at it for nine years. Everything is different, from the house you live in, to your friends, to your fashion sense and interests, and your love life (you now have a boyfriend, Harry). On top of all this, while you remember your old personality, you sort of feel a powerful urge to just settle and not work hard, something antithetical to the old you.

“My goodness…I’m just some old secretary now…” you whisper, glancing around as your mind races with thoughts. “This app is…is incredibly powerful…no wonder why Katherine wanted it for herself…”
