You’re about to offer yourself when you hear Carter pipe up.
“Ugh, I’ll do it,” she groans, walking up to him. “I hate this, I hope you know that. This is a bunch of bullshit. I can’t believe you are actually entertaining this, Bella.”
Kurt lowers his head slightly. “I…understand your skepticism, young lady” he admits. “And your name?”
“Carter.”
“Alright Carter,” he says, raising the pendulum. “Get ready to be entranced…”
“Whatever, weirdo. Do your worst, I guess.”
Nodding, he swings the pendulum back and forth, and you watch the impossible happen. Carter immediately starts to look sleepy, and, in a matter of moments, her eyes are shut tight. She stumbles forward a little, but ultimately remains balanced. Her mouth opens wide, with drool beginning to leak out. She really is hypnotized!
“Oh my…oh m-my gosh…” you stammer. “She’s under some type of spell! But it…it happened so fast! That pendulum! It…i-it-”
“-Really works?” Says Gordon, finishing your sentence. “Tell me you’re impressed.
“I am, I am!” You shout. “That’s enough!”
“Oh, but you haven’t seen the best part! Carter, my dear, open your eyes and wipe that drool of your face. And don’t look so stiff.”
Doing as she is told, Carter’s eyes are now opened, and with a drool-free face she stands there in a cutesy pose.
“And that’s just giving her commands,” says Gordon, turning to you. “Just wait until I give her suggestions…”
“Uh…s-suggestions?”
What is he going to do?
