Gordon quickly turns back towards Mei, and begins to swings the pendulum once more.
“Mei, you are older,” he says.
“I’m…o-older?” She asks, a little scared. You’re scared too; how much would he age Mei up from eighteen? Would you even remember her?
“Yes. You are older, Mei.”
“Oh…o-older…” she says quietly, her resistance to his words pretty mute. You already notice some changes, such as her hair getting shorter and her body getting just a little taller and expanding a bit, putting on a few pounds. Your head starts to hurt again.
“You’re thirty,” says Gordon, almost playfully.
“I’m thir…I-I’m…” she begins, the changes picking up speed. She now has the body of an full-grown woman, far curvier and a little taller than before. Her hair (now dyed to be brown) is cut just a little past her shoulder now, and it’s perfectly straight. Her face is also different, rearranged in such a way that makes it the face of an adult.
“Thirty, Mei. Thirty years old.”
“I’m thirty…” she gets out at last. You notice her face take on a much more mature expression, appearing far calmer. Her clothes are replaced by a pretty, elegant red and crimson dress. “Thirty years old…” she murmurs to herself, swishing her dress lightly.
Staring at Mei, you could only imagine how her head must be feeling with twelve years added on to her life. You’re head can’t be much better, as your memories of Mei fog up again for a moment before they flood back. Mei has always been like an older sister to you. She’s always been your neighbor growing up (and she still doesn’t live that far away in her own place), and though she was always much older than you, she always was a reassuring presence in your life. You remember when that asshole Todd broke your heart, and Mei stayed up with you for four hours while you cried and cried and cried. She was always sweet like that. In all honesty, Mei wasn’t even really a friend; she was pretty much family.
“You…you totally changed her again!” You shout, still clinging to the memory of teenage Mei (despite knowing it’s not who she once was). “Just…just stop!”
“Stop?” He asks, amused. “I’m having a blast! C’mon, lighten up…”
