She’s right, a test is in order. When it comes to a test subject, you can’t think of a better person but her.
“Natalia, why don’t I demonstrate on you?” You ask. “I’ll make you aware of the changes to your reality, and of course I’ll change you back once finished. It’s a harmless process.”
Natalia thinks about it for a moment before nodding quickly. “I consent,” she says, sitting down. “I trust you will do the right thing.”
“Absolutely,” you say, getting closer to her and raising the pendulum up to her face. “Now…just hold still…”
As you begin to swing it back and forth, her expression begins to rapidly dull. Her body slumps forward slightly, and her eyes and mouth are now ajar, mesmerized by the pendulum’s hypnotic power.
With her entranced, you get to thinking. Getting her under was the easy part; making the change could
prove more difficult. You want to handle this situation with the utmost care, of course.
