Natalia Kiselyov, the no-nonsense, career-focused scholar, has been your mentor ever since your incredible intelligence has been recognized. Blonde, always formally dressed, and determined, she has taken you under her wing, exposing you to many different disciplines as a sort of tutor. You’ve almost received a second, accelerated education from her, and she’s quite the mind herself. You figure that if you trust anyone else with the knowledge of this pendulum, it’s her.
“Ah, Bella! What brings you here?” She asks, surprised to see you at her front door.
“Natalia…I have something here that you won’t believe. I need to come in.”
Nodding, she ushers you inside and closes the door. She’s always been so confident and respectful of you, even though you are young.
“I…stumbled upon this pendulum,” you say, knowing that going too deep into the story of how your reality changed would be too much. “It is capable of hypnotizing a person within a few oscillations when held at eye level, and when suggestions are made, reality conforms to them.”
Natalia’s face remains stiff, not showing much of a reaction. “And what gives you that inclination, dear?”
“I used it before to erase my relationship with someone. Her and everyone else believes we never met, but as the wielder I kept my memories. This sounds crazy and I know it’s ridiculous but I wouldn’t have-”
“Hush,” says Natalia. “I know you, Bella. You are not one to fabricate. However, I will believe you when your hypothesis is proven correct. A test is in order.”
