Ben wanted to come to you, sit with you and wipe your tears but he didn’t know how to. He was guilty! For some reason you sensed this… you felt a rush of sesntive emotions… although you were angry, you were still feeling bad for your best friend.
You got up from the sofa, walked towards Ben wiping your own tears with the edge of the long sleeve of the tshirt. You’re body was quite small for the tshirt you were wearing and your small cute hands would barely make it out fully from the sleeves.
As you reach Ben, who was still seated at the table, you give him a hug from behind and massage his chest especially near the heart with your right hand trying to make him feel calm.
“Don’t stress okay? We’ll figure this out. I’m sure there has to be a way out of this and besides whats done is done…” you speak to Ben trying to reassure him.
“Trust me, if I knew this was going to be so serious I’d never do this to you guys! Trevor really messed with us… I know I’m still guilty but…” Ben started speaking when you interupt him… “Sushhh its okay… I trust you & I know Maggie does too… don’t worry” You tell Ben.
Your warm hug and words of reassurance were something Ben was certainly not expecting but it worked like magic on him.
“I don’t know what to say and how to thank you for being so forgiving and kind to me.” Ben said.
“What do you want for Lunch?” You ask Ben as you walk away from the table into the kitchen and start looking into the fridge and cabinets to see what you could make.
“I’ll order in a take away for us… you don’t have to do this, I’ve given you enough trouble” Ben responds.
“Should I make pasta?” You tell him ignoring his comments.
“You please relax for a bit. I’ll order us something and take a nap here on the sofa. You take one in the room” Ben answers.
You stand there in the kitchen and after a minute of silence you walk towards the room saying “Alright, call me when the food is here.”
You enter the room, close the door behind you and get into the bed. As your head hits the pillow and you pull over the blanket you embrace the warmth and comfort it brought to you. Thinking and overthinking and revisiting everything, you slowly fall asleep.
