Well, a single cop shows up. He seems very annoyed having to come out to settle an argument. He hears Earl's side of the story first and then he hears yours. He talks to a few witnesses that all side with you telling the officer how rude Earl has been acting. Earl get's frustrated and grabs the lamp.

"Look, it's got the thief's grimy fingerprints all over it! You can trace it back to my house I know it," he screams at the cop.

The officer gives Earl a little stink eye and takes the lamp. He observes it for a bit and then he rubs it....
