There's only one thing you can think of saying without telling him that the lamp is magic :
"- I'm... I'm [your name]'s girlfriend. I came here to have fun with him but it seems that he's not here yet. I think he wanted to offer me this lamp.
- I don't know if he would offer this kind of stuff to his girlfriend but since he never had one before, I can't be sure.
- Maybe you could put it on the table and we could ask him when he comes back...
- I guess you're right..."
He puts the lamp on the table but did he trust you or not ?
