While the old you (that you can hardly even remember) would have rashly made a fool out of Gordon, your genius mind is telling you that doing so without forethought would pose too much of a risk to reality as it stands. You therefore decide to follow your better judgment and simply get rid of him as quickly as possible without changing much reality.
“Too late, Gordon,” you proclaim, starting to swing the pendulum. “It’s too late for you…”
Unable to resist the allure of the pendulum, you watch Gordon’s face fo dull as his whole body slumps forward so his gaze can remain fixed. Within moments, he is totally entranced.
“Stand up,” you command, delighted to see him do it immediately. Before you move on, you figure that you should ensure he obeys your more tacky suggestions.
“You will not resist my suggestions at all,” you say.
“I…will not resist your suggestions at all,” he repeats slowly, looking increasingly relaxed. He’s clearly now a totally blank slate.
“From here on out,” you say, knowing you have to be specific. “You’re a good man.”
“From here on out…I’m a good man…” he says, his voice not as coarse as before. You can’t really tell if the suggestion is working, but you are inclined to believe it is.
“You will leave my house the moment I release you from trance,” you dictate.
“I will leave your house the moment you release me from trance.”
“You will happily leave the pendulum with me; you feel guilty for using it for evil.”
“I-I will happily leave the pendulum with you…” he says. “I feel guilty using it for evil.”
You can’t help but smile. It actually feels…exquisite to help him out.
“And lastly,” you add. “Your perverted desires are gone from your mind.”
“My perverted desires…are gone from my mind…” he sighs, sounding a little happy.
With that all done, you lower the pendulum and release him from trance. Gordon’s face begins to well up with tears.
“You…keep the pendulum…” he says, his voice breaking. “Thank you…thank you…I’m a changed man because of you.”
Without another word, he leaves. You and a still-entranced Mei remain in your house.
